Home Health Care
- referred to in your policy as home- and community-based
care, this is the qualified care you receive in your home when
you do not require 24-hour assistance. Since you are able to
do some things yourself, an informal caregiver can help with
your care.
For each day of Home health Care, your policy will pay the
lesser of
Adult
Day Care - With this benefit, you can receive care during
the day at an adult day care while your informal caregiver is
away at work. During the evening, both of you could enjoy the
comforts of home. This benefit pays 80% of the cost of care,
up to your selected Maximum Daily Benefit.
Informal Caregiver Training
- With some training, a family can provide the care you need.
During a plan of care, we will pay up to 5 times your selected
Maximum Daily Benefit to train your informal caregiver.
Medical Help System - A medical help system provides
help at the touch of a button. For a period of 12 months, your
policy pays up to 25% of your selected Maximum Daily Benefit
to help with the cost of renting or leasing a medical help
system that is installed in your home.
Respite Care - Allows
you to continue to receive care while your informal caregiver
takes some time away. We will pay up to 21 days of respite
care per calendar year at 80% of the cost of care, up to your
selected Maximum Daily Benefit.

Services covered at 100% - Some of the qualified
long-term care services you receive in your home are covered
by your policy up to 100% of your selected Maximum Daily
Benefit. This would include services like an occupational,
physical, respiratory, or speech therapist; or nursing care
provided by a registered, licensed or vocational nurse.
Services covered at 80% - Other qualified long -term
care services provided in your home are covered at 80% of cost
of care, up to you selected Maximum Daily Benefit. This would
include services like a medical social worker, home health
aide, homemaker and similar services.
